Presenting the fall drink that you just can’t live without! Enjoy the popular Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte right from home with this easy recipe that features homemade pumpkin spice and a fresh pumpkin syrup!
INGREDIENTS
For the pumpkin syrup
- 1/2 Cup table sugar
- 1/2 Cup water
- 1/3 Cup pumpkin puree
- 1 x 300 mL condensed milk
- 2-3 tsp pumpkin spice (or homemade)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the pumpkin spice latte
- 2-3 Tbsp pumpkin syrup
- 2 Cups milk (2% recommended)
- 2 Tbsp Javy coffee concentrate - Original
- Whipped cream, for garnish (from a can or homemade!)
- Pumpkin spice, for garnish
- Cinnamon stick, for garnish (optional)
For homemade pumpkin spice
- 3 Tbsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground clove
- 1/8 tsp allspice
INSTRUCTIONS
For the pumpkin sauce
- In a saucepan, add the water and sugar and turn on the heat. Whisk well and warm the mixture until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Once dissolved, add the pumpkin puree, condensed milk, pumpkin spice and vanilla extract. Heat for 1-2 minutes and then turn off the heat. Pour out the pumpkin syrup into a mason jar for storage in the refrigerator.
For the pumpkin spice latte
- Combine 2 Cups of milk and 2 tsp of Javy Coffee in a saucepan. Allow the mixture to warm through over the stove on medium heat.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add 3-4 Tbsp of the pumpkin syrup. Then, use a blender, a whisk or a frother to froth up this mixture.
- Top with whipped cream, pumpkin spice, and a cinnamon stick and serve warm!
For the homemade pumpkin spice
- To make this pumpkin pie spice recipe, all you need to do is mix all the spices together in a plate or shake the ingredients together in an airtight jar.
NOTES
If you don't have Javy coffee concentrate, simply substitute by using instant coffee or espresso powder.
